Vision/Mission
Empower Zambia seeks to aid in the alleviation of poverty in Zambia through the context of business development, business training, and micro loans. We pursue opportunities to allow growth through commerce by building relationships with entrepreneurs to be a disciple through the process of growing their business. The consulting is done in the context of their own culture and environment. Empower Zambia desires to be a tool used by the entrepreneur to establish individual sustainability and promote the same in the community in which they live.
Approach
Once accepted into the program, the group will undergo an intensive training course in business and complete a full business plan. The class will be organized into accountability groups, where they will be encouraged to work as a team to aid in the success of one another. Repayment will be due frequently and collected by their business mentor, who is there at least every two weeks offering counseling and follow up training courses. Some of the concepts taught during training include market research, entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, business management, risk management, sales and marketing, team building, and individual and communal sustainability. Follow up training depends on what is needed by the group, but may include concepts such as how to deal with growth and how to have a mindset to save.
